Fashion Blogs: Haute House and Next Gen Gallery

Having a mentor like a seasoned WordPress guy like Bradley Charbonneau from Likoma has been great. When I am not bugging him some little problem, he is sending me great referrals. This is a win-win for me. Not sure what Bradley gets out of this other than my undying gratitude. One such referral came to me through another great guy, Andrew Levine who among other things is a screen writer and a great account manager and designer.

Haute House is public relations firm out of LA that caters to the fashion industry. They have a WordPress site that had not been built out very much. I was brought in to develop a show case slide show for the home page and then develop gallery blog that they can maintain and update.

Next Gen Gallery fit the bill in every aspect. Archiving, managing images, and of displaying. Slide show is easy enough. You have to down load the “image-rotator” and install into the “upload” directory and unpack it completely (all files need to be loose in the upload folder. If you want a branded-free slideshow you have to buy a license.

This type of configuring took sometime. Assigning a gallery per album all allowed captioning of each “preview image” (album thumbnail).
