INSTUDIO, second round of design

INSTUDIO is a Interior design team of Samuel Lewis and Stephen Kladder. Together they offer an array of services ranging from original art, interior design, and the integration of design principles with artistic style for both home and small business.

There original site was done on a Joomla! platform which left them w/ a fragmented and confusing sight that left visitors w/ doubt as to what exactly INSTUDIO was.

We started the redesign process w/ wordpress and then started experimenting w/ different themes. One of the parameters for the redesign was to make it absolutely clear that INSTUDIO was an interior design firm. After a couple for tries it became clear that getting their work front and center was the key to getting this site off on the right foot.

One last parameter that shaped the final design was bring Samuel’s column that he writes for the SF Examiner to the home page and a primary element. Luckily we had select a theme from Graph Paper Press which is simple and clean enough (code wise) for making core template modifications.
